Our Story

My name is Steve Faria, and along with my wife, Connie, we wanted to share the story of how and why we became resort owners.

Connie and I spent many of our summers, both while dating and after we were married, enjoying the waters of Table Rock Lake. We would drive from Springfield with our boat or jet ski for a day on the lake. After our first child was born, we quickly realized that taking turns sitting on the shoreline with a baby carrier while the other rode the jet ski wasn’t quite the same. 🙂

That’s when we purchased our first lake home, a little fixer-upper in a neighborhood called Gobbler’s Mountain. As our family grew, so did our love for lake life. We eventually purchased another fixer-upper, and Connie and I discovered how much we enjoyed remodeling these homes and making them our own.

Our kids truly grew up as “lake babies,” with bottles in hand and life jackets securely fastened. There were countless naps on the boat, weekends with friends and family, and memories made together on Table Rock Lake.

Then, one day, a property with just four small cabins became available. It wasn’t much at the time, but the land and lake views were incredible. We decided to take a chance. We knew how much Table Rock Lake had meant to our family, and we wanted to create a place where other families could experience that same connection.

And that’s how Chalets on Table Rock Lake was born, our first family resort. We started by building four five-bedroom chalets and a resort pool. Thanks to the incredible response from our guests, we were able to expand with four six-bedroom chalets and eight villas. What started as a dream became a place where generations of families and friends could gather, reconnect, and make their own lake memories.

As demand continued to grow, we were fortunate to purchase another beautiful lakefront property, WaterMill Cove Resort. Completed in 2016, WaterMill Cove gave us the opportunity to offer the same spacious homes and family-focused experience in a location just two miles from Silver Dollar City and minutes from Branson. We filled WaterMill Cove with the kinds of amenities our own family would love on vacation, including pools, water activities, mini golf, outdoor recreation, fire pits, and plenty of ways for families to enjoy their time together without ever leaving the resort.

Our next chapter brought us to Kimberling City and Serenity Shores Resort in 2023. Set on 44 private acres, Serenity Shores was designed to feel less like a crowded resort and more like your own peaceful lakefront neighborhood. Spacious vacation homes, beautiful Table Rock Lake surroundings, and resort amenities give families room to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy time together.

And now, our story is expanding beyond Table Rock Lake. Our newest chapter is River Lake Resort on Lake Taneycomo in Branson. River Lake Resort brings the Faria Resorts experience to a completely different side of Branson lake life. Located directly on the shores of Lake Taneycomo, the resort was designed for families, fishermen, golfers, groups, and guests who want to enjoy Branson while still having a relaxing lakefront place to call home. With spacious four-bedroom lodges, a private boat dock, resort-style pools, pickleball, bocce ball, basketball, fire pits, and our own professional putting course, River Lake Resort continues the tradition we started all those years ago: creating places where people can spend meaningful time together.

What began with one little fixer-upper on Table Rock Lake has grown into something we never could have imagined. We sincerely thank every guest who has stayed with us, returned year after year, told friends about us, and trusted our resorts with their family vacations. Without your support and friendships, none of this would have been possible.

As we prepare to welcome guests to River Lake Resort on Lake Taneycomo, we’re excited to begin another chapter and give even more families a place to make memories of their own.
